Java Town Park Project
Support the Java Town Park Project in South Dakota.
Build a Park. Build a Place to Belong.
Many of our rural South Dakota communities don’t have the money or resources to build spaces like this on their own. In a lot of small towns there’s no counselor down the street, no rec center and nowhere close for kids to play or for neighbors to get together.
People here often drive anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half just to reach mental health care or a place to have some fun. That distance adds up, and for a lot of people it means staying home, staying alone and carrying more than anyone should carry by themselves. Suicide rates in our state keep climbing, and isolation is a big part of why.
A park gives people a reason to step outside and see each other. Kids get somewhere to run and play. Parents swap stories on the bench. Neighbors who haven’t talked in months end up talking again. Time outdoors in the sun and moving your body helps you produce the natural chemicals that lift your mood, ease stress and help you sleep better.
This park won’t just serve Java. Families from nearby towns will finally have a safe updated recreational space, and that makes the whole area stronger.
When you give to the Java Town Park, you’re building more than a playground and some picnic tables. You’re building a place where people show up for each other, and in a small town that can save a life.
Give today and help us build it.
